Heart Check Profile
HeathCheckUSA is proud to offer a heart check profile, which is essential for anyone concerned about their cardiovascular health. Even if you have no immediate concerns, a heart check profile is a good way to gauge your baseline levels for future comparisons. Our heart check profile combines many different of the following tests, which combined give you a good measure of your overall heart health. The combination of homocysteine, highly sensitive C-reactive protein, Chem-26, and the revolutionary VAP (Vertical Auto Profile) cholesterol profile makes our Heart Check Profile the most comprehensive cardiovascular disease assessment HealthCheckUSA offers.
Homocysteine
Homocysteine, an amino acid found in the bloodstream, can damage the artery linings if levels are too high. Up to 20% of people with heart disease have high homocysteine levels on their heart check profile.
CRP
The high sensitivity C-reactive protein, or CRP, measures inflammation, which is a possible indicator of heart disease. Doctors can also use CRP to monitor your risk of having a sudden heart attack. The CRP test is a crucial part of our heart check profile.
Chem-26
The chem-26 test is a comprehensive screening that includes total cholesterol (HDL, LDL), triglycerides, and glucose, along with kidney, liver and heart functions, potassium, calcium, uric acid, electrolytes and iron. These are essential components of any heart check profile.
VAP
Our heart check profile also tests VAP, which identifies more than 90% of people who are at risk for heart disease. Cholesterol screenings only identify 40%. This expanded cholesterol screening provides valuable information that can identify hidden heart disease risks, including hereditary factors that can lead to premature heart disease.
