WOMEN'S PROFILE

A women's profile from HealthCheckUSA is a comprehensive assessment that all women should consider taking if they're concerned about their health. HealthCheckUSA is able to provide the women's profile test at a significant discount--due to its popularity. This baseline women's profile tests more than 50 indicators, including "Super Chemistry", HbA1c, TIBC, Thyroid Profile, and UA.

HealthCheckUSA's super chemistry test combines some of our most popular tests that measure many of the most basic body chemistry functions. A cholesterol test is part of the women's profile and super chemistry test that will measure the total cholesterol found in your blood. Cholesterol is a fatty, waxy substance that is used to make cells, hormones, vitamin D, and bile acids. Your body makes the cholesterol you need, but food also has cholesterol. Heredity, weight, age, sex, exercise, and stress can affect your levels.

The women's profile also measures triglycerides--another form of fat. Triglycerides are from foods like vegetable oils and animal fats. High triglyceride levels should be cause for concern. A normal triglyceride level is less than 150 mg/DL. A change in diet, along with cardiovascular exercise, should be considered for high levels.

Also measured in the women's profile is your CBC, or complete blood count. A CBC is one of the most commonly performed lab tests. This test checks red and white blood cells, platelet levels, hemoglobin, and hematocrit.

The women's profile super chemistry test also measures glucose levels, kidney, liver, and heart functions, potassium, calcium, uric acid, electrolytes, and iron. All of these indicators are a crucial part of our women's profile.

Besides the super chemistry, the women's profile also tests HbA1c. This measures your average glucose levels for the past 2-3 months. This women's profile test provides a good understanding of how well one is managing her diabetes over an extended length of time. High levels from this test are an indicator of diabetes complications. Even if you don't have diabetes, testing HbA1c is a good way to gauge your glucose levels, and we're proud to include it in our women's profile.

Our women's profile also test TIBC, or transferrin. TIBC is normally used to test for iron levels. Typically, 1/3 of the TIBC measured in a women's profile is used to transport iron throughout the body. In women with an iron deficiency, iron levels are low, but TIBC levels are increased. A women's profile for persons with too much iron can have TIBC levels that are low or normal. TIBC is produced in the liver, which also means that TIBC levels can be decreased in persons with liver disease. TIBC levels can also be lowered when there's not enough protein in your diet, so the TIBC test can also be used in a women's profile to better understand nutrition.

Additionally, our women's profile also consists of a thyroid profile. This test includes T3 Uptake, T4 Total, T7, and TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone).
